    Dash and pedal box inspiration

    Hi all,

In building my new race car, I already have a list of things that I am looking to 'better'.

Two things that that are currently circling in my head are the dash, and the pedal assembly.

The new car is LHD vs RHD (current race car). There seems to be some consensus that a racing pedal box is better set up in terms of foot ergonomics than the standard set up, and after spending some time in the car playing with seat positions, I am tending to agree.

So, what are the pedal box options, knowing that there are some expensive ones out there, and are they worth the upgrade?

Secondly, the dashboard - what are some of the cool things you have seen, given that the dash needs to remain relatively stock but things such as switches for fuel pumps, cut-out switches, lights etc can be added. I have some ideas, but know that the creativity of members of this board is second to none!

I promise I am not looking to copy, but to gain inspiration!

    Thanks!

This is what I did, its a OBP pedal box floor mounted with a bias adjuster. I moved it out to the RHS since my RHD car driving position was a bit skewed. The brake is now central. Its all still fllor pivoted so feels right for a 911. I was able to integrate it to the original cluth and throttle cables with some simple engineering. Clutch is a bit heavy since its direct with no helpers and the throttle is sensitive since that too is direct to the carbs.

That's a very sweet rally set up - great use of that space in the dash. In my current build I was planning to use the radio delete space for my pair of rally watches, and then convert the glove box to a map/nav station, with pull out red-white light....of course if I had one of these gem Halda's, that would be a centerpiece....awesome patina.

There is a plan to make an exact copy of the factory halda/heuer bracket somewhere on this site.

Pedal spacing and position do not change from stock.

We are just making an adjustable gas pedal to complement these boxes and to make heel/toe easier.

The laser cuts are all ready just a small amount of fabrication to finish off.

    Thanks guys.

Found some more details on the net, but still keen to see who else has run pedal box conversions and the pros/cons.
