    Oil temp sender?

Does anyone know if the oil temp senders are different for 1965 green gauges and 1974 black gauges? Car is a 1965. Engine is a 2.4 and my car had black gauges installed. I bought a used set of correct green faced gauges but the oil temp is pegged. Trying to research before I pull the gauge and send it in to be checked. Thanks in advance, Christian

Early senders increase resistance with increased temp, black face gauge senders reduce resistance with increased temp..
