I have TB15 18/60 (Fuchs 9x15) and 23/62 (11x15) on my 2.8 RSR tribute. On wet roads - not heavy rain of course - I find the handling great, because of the soft side, but the very soft rubber as well. So far you don't reach aquaplaning, these tires are perfect to me. And it's raining quite a lot in Switzerland...

    Hi Jack:

Is your friend running 9" & 11"x15 Fuchs like we are? if so would you ask him what size Pirelli's he is using front & rear.

    Thanks so much!

    hello markivan,

My friend is driving a true Carrera 3.0 RS with 9&11x15 Fuchs. He told me he has 235/45x15 in front and 285/40x15 behind. He told me the exact name is Pirelli P7 Corsa D3 and he is pleased on dry and wet roads.

    TB5s - Good all around

I'm on my second set of TB5s (1st set full tread, 2nd partial) on 9s & 11s x 15. These are great tires all around wet and dry. I've even been caught out in a freak CA snowstorm and keep it on the road but I wouldn't recommend doing that often. The only issue I've had with them is they feel like stones and offer very little grip in the cold below 40F. I've been told by Michelin that the TB15 were developed as a full rain tire and they shouldn't be expected to last long on dry roads under moderate to heavy use.

    Tires for 9" & 11" x 15 Fuchs - ST/RSR

    HI Jack!

Thank you very much for all of the information!

I'm looking for a distributor for the Pirelli'e P7 Corsa D3 in the US before looking in Europe. Would you kindly provide names of companies that supply Vintage/Classic/Historic tires for you?

I purchased my Michelin TB15's from Longstone Classic Tyres in the UK. They fantastic to work with, specifically Simon Cox and his bundle of tire knowledge.

    Tire info:

Michelin Classic Tire - Michelin Competition Classic

AVON Historic Motorsport tires - AVON Historic Tyres

Dunlop Classic Road Tyres USA - Race Dunlop

Working with the following tire groups in the US to sort out what I need for the Porsche and some of my other vintage classics...

    Sasco Sports

    Thanks Lee!

Are you running the 'R' Medium Compound or the 'F' Soft Compound? My ST came delivered with two sets of 'R' compound tires. The TB15's really don't work for me (will use for rain's at the track), the TB5 is just such a better tire with the stiffer sidewall. I'm going to look into the Pirelli that Jack recommended and also order a set of TB5 F's and have the outside slick section hand grooved for better water displacement.

On my TB5, I have R medium compound on rear tires ans F on the front. It's a good combination for me, between handling and the length of the tires.

For the new TB15, I heard guys on Tour de France rally (a famous classic in april) who destroyed the tires in hundred's on kilometers in 2012. In 2013, because of the sponsors' contract, the were obliged to use Avon tires! this one:

I was behind that car in the rain and I couldn't keep up with SO-3's!! I don't know how you could expect more from a wide tire.
Or...maybe a excellent driver? Naww... that couldn't be it......

Any more insight as to tire pressures for the TB15s?
