A PO must have liked 68s. It has lost lots of it's 66 parts in favor of 68 stuff.
Note: Headlights, door handles, gauges, shoulder belts, wheels. Still a good project, though.

    Regards

    Jim

That is interesting. I see from the badge that it is a Karmann body. Will you divulge the VIN and the paint code stamped on the badge?

We thought all the 68 stuff on it was odd/interesting as well.
It also has the wheel spacers, but maybe it needs them for the wheels.
Another interesting item, it has factory front and rear sway bars, atleast they appear to be factory, if not someone did a real nice job fabing them in.

I'll probably put 66 stuff back on it if I can find the items at swap meets, or maybe get them from EASY .

Color Code is 6602 Polo Red

I'll mostly likely re-paint it the polo red, but I think it may be a few days before I need to worry about color

    Here's the ID plate:

    Thanks for the interest,
    Mike

Photo document and strip it down to find what you have. There should also be a Karmann body # under the cover on the tunnel in front of the rear seats. If you have engine and trans numbers I can guess if they may be original to the car.

    No engine or trans.
At least gas prices won't be an issue .
If I can find a cheap basket case 911 I may convert it, plenty of time to decide.
