    new targa

I'm not a fan of the newer Porsches. Performance aside, they seem to have all the soul and allure of a new refrigerator. The new Targa however looks very good and definitely, for me, has an appeal evocative of the cars we like. Check it out.

With a few exceptions, I've been indifferent to factory evolutions since the 993. This new targa, though, is pretty bitchin' (aside from the 110k entry fee). I have 4 longhoods I love (including 2 Softies), but I'm growing a bit of wood over this car. Wish it had a zip-out/removable window. but still, can't wait to see one live.

That is one crazy complex and Rube Goldbergish top system. You have to wonder why they did it except that folks like the retro look of the old targas and they figured it would be too much trouble for a new Porsche owner to actually stop and remove the Targa top.

I do love the new cars- they are awesome to drive.

Brave Porsche did this Targa and I understand that in this age, everything has to work with a button.
But I think they would have been better off and would get away witha manual roof panel...

Seems like a lot of extra weight and complexity just for convenience. I'd prefer old-school, but naturally Porsche would charge more for a LTW version.

I do like the retro Targa a lot otherwise, the iconic rollbar looks great.
