FS: Purolator - Porsche Branded Red/Orange Oil Filters 1964-1973+

    SOLD OUT

Some of you may have seen my research on the factory installed (and dealer parts dept.) red-orange Purolator / Porsche branded oil filters on the Technical Info part of our forum. Here's the previous thread: http://www.early911sregistry.org/for...read.php?81468

Since I've started production on these to be ready in time for the LA Lit Show on 3/1 I figured it was time to put out updates over here in the For Sale section.

To keep it short I'm recreating both types of oil filter (PC34/901.107.203.02/OC61) and (PC260/911.107.764.00/OC54) that would have been put on every 911 from 1964 until the early 80's. So I've bought a number of the Mahle Austrian made OC61 (1964-1971) and OC54 (1972-1983). I found a very close match for the unique Purolator red-orange paint. I drew the graphics and tweaked them further once I had an original of both in hand to create an exact match.

I've just finished painting all of the OC61's. I still need to get the OC54's painted and cured before delivering everything to the screen printer. I had a very successful meeting with them this afternoon and as long as I can get everything to them in time it all looks good to go for LA. They'll need to test a few samples but I felt very confident that they do a good job with applying the graphics.

Two technical updates to note. I am going to make the early PC34's a slightly darker shade of red-orange vs the later PC260's which have a bit more orange to them. The two are still pretty close but I thought it would be fun to match the idiosyncrasies of each that much closer. Second, I noticed that my PC34 is dated 1.70 so the earlier version of PC34 (the later being the updated PC34/1 911.107.203.09) was used until at least the end of the 1970 MY. I suspect since the visible changes match the PC260, the PC34 probably evolved into the PC34/1 in 1972. So I figure the earlier labeling of PC34 will be correct for all 2.0l -2.2l cars.

Here's a transparency of the PC34 graphics on top over a freshly painted OC61. They should be pretty darn close when I get them back from the screen printers.

Like I mentioned before I'm going to try and keep <strike>the price at $40</strike> NOW $12/ea. I'll be more concrete once I get the estimate from the screen printer.

    Stephen,

I'm going to try and bring as many as possible to LA and debut them there first. I'll probably be retuning to Denver with some. Even if I don't I'll be making them available to all once I get back or make more. Probably 2-3 weeks after the show if I have to make another run.
