    Mike Hammond: still "killing it"

Sorry about the lens flare, but here he is going through the Turn 2 sweeper at Willow Springs this past Saturday, inside front well off the ground.

    And similarly through the Omega:

Mike's awesome. He's very easy going and had some really great advice to share when I picked his brain between sessions.

    Thanks, Mr. Hammond.

What time did he do? I heard it was unbelievable for that car.

Mike Hammond is an unknown legend. The Esses article shed some light on the man, but it's still not enough.

    I think he was going 1:35s ... with a 2.4L powered 67S. That's absolutely RIPPING IT UP.

I wholeheartedly agree. He needs to write a memoir!

He did a 1:36 I think he said, but he was really pissed about all the traffic holding him up. They switched from individual (well, three people at a time) time trial runs to a bunch of lapping sessions with everyone on track and I think it has to be a point-by to pass. So he packed up early.

He told me his fastest times are in the 1:34's.
