    Scheel 400 - What are they worth?

    Looking at buying a pair of Scheel 400's and was wondering what a nice original pair is worth without the bases?

    The prices on 400s are all over the place. I bought mine 4 years ago so I'm not sure that mine would be an accurate gauge in today's pricing. And mine needed reupholstering. Do they have head rests? My guess is if they are original and don't require reupholstering...somewhere around $1200 to $1500. Others with more vintage seat experience will chime in, I'm sure.

    Hi I'd say here in europe (read Germany) good condition - and bad condition Prices in euro
    Very early ones (no headrest) No Market price - rare
    Early ones with Metal Hinges 800€ - 300€ (1100$-410$)
    Plastic hinges slim earlier shape 500 - 200 (680$-275$)
    Later type with the pronounced shoulder 350 - 100 (480$-135$)
    Alpina Stuff or upholstery in BMW tissue add a premium.

    They were really, really nice. A few years ago I picked up a mismatched ratty pair for $200, and I still have those and use them.

    If they're nice they should bring top money, IMO.
