who sold Porsches in Albuquerque, NM, circa 1967?

I have found Art Janpol thanks to Rick's entry about license plate frames. He may have been the first, starting up later in 1970?

I remember the dealership just south of Wyoming and Lomas on the East side. Sold Jaguars and Alfa's as well.

VW's went from there to University Volks (or they may have been competitors for a while - I was only a kid, what do I know?).

    cheers! Mike

Gracias Alex! I bet that is the same location as Art Janpol... On the other side of the street according to google maps. Maybe that's where Art Janpol was, on the west side not the east side of Wyoming. I was just a kid...

I purchased my '71 E from Gineris Porsche Audi in Albuquerque. They were on the West side of Wyoming, more or less across from the VW dealer. As I remember they had been in business there for only a few years at that time.

That's awesome Joe!!! I have confirmed that Imported Motors is the same shop as Gineris. And thanks to Alex we know they were in biz 1966 at least.

I wonder if they made any porsche license plate frames? Cool beans!

    Hi ddinham -

Very cool - Gineris had a plate frame

Moreover, glad to make your aquaintance. I am -very- slow to meet local folks infected as I am with these cars. Can't find even enough time to work on the car! We'll cross paths here in the duke city sooner than later I am sure.

    Cheers - Mike
