Just wanted to thank those folks who directed me to Tony. He was the correct person to talk to.

The picture is of a GT/Ferrari seat, which is perhaps one of the rarest of all the cool seats the factory and aftermarket put out. The GT seats were listed in the 911 sports purposes manual as an optional no-cost swap out of the regular sport seats contained in the rallye kit. I assume they were also available through other means (direct order) but my guess is the rallye kit swap out is where most of them came from.

The seats are rare enough…but does anybody have the correct base(s)? I think they were somewhat special for this seat as well.

    Jim

Well, it turns out there were TWO of these GT seats in great condition with wonderful patina (they're from one of Bruce Jennings' old race cars), but…they're actually for a 356 GT. The bucket itself appears to be the same as a 911 GT seat as the cushions are known to match perfectly in length and width. I'm going to put them in a deserving 911 using some custom bases that closely replicate the originals (thanks for the pics John).

Can't say enough great things about Tony at autobahn. He is turning out some great work and has been a pleasure to work with on this project. Thanks Tony!

Pretty awesome. Glad they went to a good home. I spent a long time in Tony's booth alternately staring at the one on display and then my checkbook. Checkbook won.
