    Hi,
    Small: 64-68 period.

    Thanks,

Ah. I didn't "see" EARLY which equals small.

I've seen two styles (old mirrors but unsure of exact vintage)…one with the stud in the front and one without. I'm still trying to verify whether the stud is required for it to be genuine as I've see a lot of older mirrors without the stud (and have two).

Anyone with something absolute on this topic?

The "large" Durant mirror was introduced in 1968. Asking for a "SWB" mirror is asking for trouble. It is much better to ask for a specific year and don't assume that all SWB or LWB stuff is the same.

I believe for even a very early 68 like you have, you should be looking for a large Durant. Make sure to check the stars look like this, lots of replicas floating around.

I can think of no better person than Jim who replied earlier to confirm (or beat me in the head ) He will give you a very good answer next time he logs on. No doubt a 68 should have the large Durant, but we have seen many times before that parts were carried over to the first cars of next years model. I would check for pictures of other very early 68 cars if Jim canīt give you the definitive answer.

BTW: The stars and "Made in Germany" are the same on small and large original Durants.

Jim, do you know about the front stud issue (vs. no stud). I have some vintage appearing small durants with the proper stars and "made in germany" insignia but…no front stud. Thoughts?
