    Malcolm Pray Collection

The late Malcolm Pray, who for many years owned Porsche (and other) dealerships in Greenwich CT, also was a world-renowned car collector. Since it didn't seem like I would be driving my own cars anytime soon, the next best thing was to visit Mr Pray's collection before key parts of it head off to RM's Auction at Amelia Island on March 7, 2014. Mr Pray especially had an eye for French cars...

shot of my garage (which seems to be blocked for the time being), followed by a few shots of some of Mr Pray's cars...

I was at his place a bunch of years ago, as part of a tour for folks displaying at the Greenwich concours, he was a great man, and to call his collection 'amazing', 'incredible' and/or 'vast' would all be a gross understatement.

Mr. Pray sold his dealerships in 1999 and passed away last summer at age 84.
He certainly had an impact on Porsche's success in the USA - He served as Chairman of the National Porsche Audi Dealer Council from 1971-1976 (A period of time of great interest to early S members). One suspects that he and Porsche management must have had their share of "discussions".
