Wow. Demand for Early 911s and my experience yesterday!

I was driving home yesterday afternoon in my 1973 Viper Green 911T (still with original paint, interior, etc.). Some guy in a car going the other way yells out "I will buy your car today for cash!" I yell back "not for sale." I guess he didn't hear me or wanted to try further. He pulled an illegal u-turn and followed me until he could come along side. He said "I will buy your car today for $50,000 cash." I politely declined.

I will say that I do get notes on my car from time to time with people offering to buy it. But this one is certainly the most aggressive!

I guess it shows the fever for some of the cars.

I was careful to make sure he did not follow me all the way home.

I had a similar experience in my 912 daily driver last week. This guy followed me into the parking lot of a restaurant after doing some dodgy driving to get across a few lanes of traffic. I was helping my son out of his car seat in the back and this guy wouldn't/couldn't understand why I wasn't interested in selling him my car. Finally I said that I'd take $60k for it. To which he replied 'that seems like a lot for an old 912'. I just said... imagine how much I want for my 911 that I don't want to sell.
