    Stripes Questions

I'm thinking about adding some racing look to my Tangerine '69 with Porsche black side scripts, but don't want to commit by actually painting stripes on the car. Any recommendation/advice about vinyl stripes? Info about the following would be appreciated:

    (1) Good resources to buy the Vinyl (whether it is two tone or just a one color roll)
    (2) Paint considerations (ie: If I add the stripes, would the exposure to the Sun fade the color of the parts of the car with no vinyl stripes covering the paint leaving the vinyl covered sections in the same color as it is today?)
    (3) Open to see some cool designs (I'm either thinking about traditional two white stripes on the sides of the of hood and engine lid or center thicker white stripe with thinner black side lines going through the center of the hood, roof and engine lid)

    Thanks!

Stripes can provide a very cool racing look. One word of caution, please be sure it's the look you want because going back to no stripes could be an issue. I put some vinyl stripes on my MINI Cooper (a very common and good look) and a couple years later decided to go back to the stock appearance. The only problem was getting the adhesive off the paint after the stripes were removed. I used every removal agent I could think of and eventually cleaned the adhesive off the rear, but the front hood was a different story. I ended up taking the car to a detailing shop and they did everything short of sanding the hood down to get the adhesive off. They wanted to know where I got the vinyl stripes because as they put it, "the adhesive was like concrete".

Bob Tilton is your man for side scripts.

He can probably advise on what type of vinyl you should use for the stripes.

Heres some orange car inspiration, combination of white, black and silver striping.

I've never had an issue removing stripes with a bit of patience and a hairdryer to soften the adhesive.

Thanks! My car has the Tilton side scripts. I think the way I wrote the post was a bit confusing. Looking for the vinyl to do the stripes. Thanks for the picture and comments.
