i run Pirelli P1's in 195/65 on my road car, $120 AUD/ tyre.
i like them for the way they look (period) and the on road performance (good grip level and quiet).
    regards

You have a beautiful car, Craig! Thank you for the reply. I haven't seen P1's up here in the States. We have P6000's, but they are (ridiculously) expensive. I would like to have a tire with very minimum stuff on the sidewalls (no graphics, flames, Unicorns, etc ). It's proving hard to find.

There are Fuzion Touring (yuck), Pirelli P6000 ($$$$), and the BFGoodrich Touring T/A (shown below).... it's a little "hillbilly", but it's a clean look. And I'm a hillbilly, so...

I 've been running 195/65x15 Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires for the last few years and have been very pleased with their performance. They are only H rated, but I don't get any where near sustained speeds of 130 mph.

I love them, but they don't sell them anymore.

I've been running Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS. I have about 5000 miles on them on my '67 swt. They've performed very well.

Looking at those and very interested... so glad you have experience with them! Could I trouble you for a picture of one of your tires on the car? The "stock photo" on Tirerack is of a low-profile version.
