1966 fuel flap catch // Help Needed

    Hello,

I need help closing the fuel door flap. The catch remains in the open position. I need to manually push the release button in order to secure the lid closed. Perhaps I'm missing a spring somewhere?

    Many thanks for your help,

    Thomas

    Yes Thomas,

There is a coiled spring with two 'legs' that fits into the latch mechanism in the filler recess in the wing/fender. This keeps the latch pulled towards the rear of the car. Likely yours has snapped. I have a spare latch somewhere if a photo would help.
