WTB: Front Boge Strut Cartridges for '67-'68

I guess I need help on 2 levels. First, I'm looking for boge front strut cartridges for my '67-'68 911 Targa. I have a porsche part # from the book of 901-341-067-06, but it says "not for targa."

On the second level, I've tried to cross-match the boge part # without success. I think it is a 1-0701-32-388-F, but I would appreciate confirmation that the boge # is correct from those in the community with that information.

    Please help.

    gregk1,

thanks so much. please don't be offended, but i'm really trying to replace original equipment at this time. however, i will certainly keep you in mind if the boge option becomes impossible.

    thank you.

I think if you want to retain Boge inserts then your closest bet is the 69+ type as seen here:

    http://www.stoddard.com/911-1965-75/...41-903-00.html

Note that even though they say 69+ the inserts seem to have the same spec, the only difference is the length - SWB are longer and LWB are shorter. When you buy Bilsteins for SWB they come with a little spacer, maybe 1/4" tall. I would assume that the Boge for LWB should fit with a spacer. They way you would know is screw down the retaining collar - if your shock insert bounces up and down a little inside the housing then you need to space it or you will hear loud clunks in the suspension. The spacer can be fabricated easily.

The SWB 911S targas that I have has all ran Boge struts and the rumor was the Konis were too stiff for the targa body but I doubt they were a problem.

In the end if you want the best ride Bilstein is it, Koni and Boge are much more bouncy.
