    Porsche sells new 1973 tubs

So here's your speculation thread....Ford, Chrysler and GM have all jumped on this bandwagon...licensed out their factory jigs....I wonder when / if Porsche will capitalize on this?.....I wonder how many they would need to sell to make it worthwile to get everything set up and going again...heck might even get some of the pensioners to come off the bench for a couple of years...

98+% of the parts are already in production needed to remake new complete tubs.

There are 2 companies working in the aftermarket on this project, both are overseas.

The legal issues are the biggest hurdle not technical; they can basically already build a tub; I've seen it firsthand.

Time, the market place, and ultimately Porsche's lawyers will decide the fate of this.....

Sportwagen-eckart has them out of Germany. Coupe's & Targa's. They mfg just about every other piece of sheetmetal and have tons of other parts. 27K + shipping on the tubs with paperwork. Ouch.. They look amazing though.

well ...the tubs eckert sells are not new and far away from what he describes as ready to paint...and also very funny the before and after pics...the pics are not even from the same cars some are even not the same model ---the beige shell you can see at his webpage i had in the house in 2012...well if ready to paint means ...replace the quarter panel, close many aftermarket AC holes, weld the forgotten brackets in,bring the parcel shelf 7mm up (ooops there are also hinges for the engine lid welded on it ...surprise surprise...no no.. we never checked the gaps ) )drill the holes for the sunroof drains+weld the drain tubes in!!!....replace the tank suport cause it was 5mm out of dimensions(so that you could not fit the tank in) same for the front wishbone mounts.....etc etc.....yep in this case it was ready to paint....good job guys
