Kelly usually rides in the Bus, but is just as comfortable in one of the cars. It's the destination, after all: there will be squirrels.

    Thumbs up

Look who came home with me! He showed up at a friend's camp several days ago. I spent a couple days there. His brother brought his Lab for them to keep a day or so. Well the 17 year old Lab and the young dog didn't get along, and said he would go drop this dog off some where.

Well, I wouldn't hear of that, so I took him home. He is such sweet dog. Young and good shape. So a trip to the vet is going to happen soon to see if he is chipped. If he is, I'll find the owner. If not, I'll keep him. No name on the collar and no tag.

    So what breed? Australian Shepherd?

Ours starting to get settled in our new home after a long move. At 15, barely able to see or hear, he still thinks he's "keeping an eye on things!"

    Hmm . . .

. . . ya didn't give a size/weight, but --- from the bobbed tail . . . sure looks like an Aussie + something. Or Border Collie, maybe? This Little Guy 's marked like Bernese, though. Might wanna verify his age. Bernese =~St Bernard . . . w/ less hair + different marks = >100lbs

My favorite breeds are the 'working/field' dogs --- shepherds, labs, collies, usw. Bred to be physically tough/durable/nimble = can handle weather, brush, tougher terrain, getting wet/dirty/hot. They're also smart/trainable = cute don't cut it w/ me. Oh-yeah --- One Master only

Disclaimer . . . My last two dogs are Aussie-mixes. Temperament counts, though. Might wanna double-check his 'play-drive' and how he handles a roomful of people. If he's an natural 'fetcher,' then he'll be a ball to train. But if he's kooky in a crowd --- nipping, circling, general nervousness . . . then you might wanna find him a job; 'herders' need heavy exercise to tamp-down that instinct --- or they'll make ya nuts

Anyway --- good-on-you for you for taking him in

    Hope he's not chipped
