Yes, low mileage, but still a pretty expensive estimate.

This beautiful 1972 Porsche 911E Targa checks all the right boxes: exceptionally well-maintained with 11,600 original miles on the odometer, limited production as one of 861 produced that year, a prized model year—1972 with the oil tank filler cap on the rear fender, desirably optioned and in excellent unrestored condition. This car is of “E” specification and many knowledgeable Porsche enthusiasts consider this engine as the sweet spot of performance, being faster in acceleration from 0-60 MPH than both the 911T and 911S. History has proven the wisdom of the 911E engine specification and now collectors are actively seeking them out. Ironically, they were not as popular as their T and S brethren making them extremely rare, especially when fitted to a Targa body style. In 1972, Porsche made a design change to their 911 by placing the dry sump oil tank further forward in an effort to improve weight distribution. This proved to be a one year only feature exclusive to the 1972 model year and is immediately identifiable by an external oil filler cap on the upper right side of the rear fender. Although this made sound engineering sense, it proved to be problematic when gas station attendants mistakenly tried to use it as a gas filler cap. This car is heavily optioned with a number of desirable features including Silver Metallic paint—two stage metallic paints were optional—custom “Red Leather to sample” interior with contrasting black carpet, 911S appearance group with bold aluminum rocker moldings, 911S front lip spoiler, wider rubber strips on the bumpers, forged anodized Fuchs alloy wheels, Bilstein gas pressure shock absorbers, tinted glass, Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM-FM radio and white fog lights mounted on the front horn grilles. This 911E Targa comes complete with owner’s manual, drivers manual, tools and a factory-issued Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.
