    My Pastel Blue 2.2S

    Hi Everyone,

Wanted to start a short thread now that I'm finally driving the 2.2S I've always dreamed of finding, a Pastel Blue Vasek Polak delivered example. She was with one caretaker, Hugo Plascentia, from new in 1970 until around 2010 or so, when its longtime mechanic Robert Wessels bought the car as a restoration candidate. The car has never left the South Bay of Los Angeles. As it happened, I expressed a strong interest in the car after finding out how well preserved it was for the mileage, with its original motor and gearbox surviving through to the present even with the multiple rebuilds the car has had in its 425,000 or so miles. Robert sold me the car after enough hectoring in August 2022 and Richard Humphrey just recently completed the motor to stock specifications with the gearbox and suspension done by Scott's Independent. It's a 15 or so year old paint job and is perfect for a driver. Clay at Scott's now has to go through a few of the finishing touches before it goes in for an interior. She will be driven often and I'm so grateful to have come across it. I doubt there are more than twenty Pastel Blue 2.2S and I personally know of only three others.

I need to get it cleaned up a bit better for photos but here she is at Jack Stagg's Friday get together last night.
