"We have met the enemy and they are us."

Life is WAY too short to engage in radioactive self importance or delusion about perceived authority. I hope all concerned in this situation extend an olive branch toward one another (privately!) and we can get back to discussing women's fashions.

Well, I'm really glad you've posted in this thread as I for one have relied heavily in the past on the information you were so open with sharing. Your passion, clearly contageous. Not many on your end of the spectrum are willing. It's a shame that all of that history is now gone. However, I expect that it is still there and could be reinserted into the forum again.

Would that be something you'd consider allowing even though you've decided to reduce your time on the boards from here on out?

I'm also glad that the Mods have allowed this thread to evolve.. I was sure after your first post that it too was a goner like the sticky.

I get the intent of the heavy censorship (it's not what I'd call moderating) but, I think it's more harmful to the Registry in the long run.. I'm not interested in a stiff upper lip.

I lied,,,, a stiff upper lip has a time and a place.

Ok here is my perspective no one individual is more important than the hobby(me) and the the content that was generated was thru absorbing like a sponge all those in the hobby so I can never take credit

At the same time the point of removing the content was to demonstrate to the moderators the power of all that contribute and the value is in the group over those that preside
And if those who preside don't value those that contribute then the system is backboards

The pain was felt by all of us especially me not because any of it was my glory but rather the void can't be replaced and that's what I wanted those in the power to understand and respond

I can certainly understand those that felt I was a sour puss who was about himself and my data but it was never my data or info

The info is there and can be restored here is a small portion of an email I sent to chuck on April the 3rd

"I do understand that me removing my posts took a lot away form the registry and I appologize for that. If you want to restore the content under another pseudonym i have no problems with it . I am not saying this out of arrogance but out of humility"

My point always has been that to be a moderator is a calling a privilege a responsibility and an honor. You serve and preside over those you serve to ultimately grow what others have sacrificed

Yes I have no Issues nor do I want it to be about me

Having spent a long time over the years reading Raj's important contribution to many threads on the forum, I was shocked when it all disappeared overnight. It was a substantial loss to our community. If the moderators have the ability to restore the content, with with Raj's name or that of another, I believe they would be doing an important service to the members of the community.

I do not know of all the background that led to the controversy, nor do I wish to know: all I do know is that the knowledge and insight Raj has regarding our beloved cars is valuable to all of us interested in preserving the cars and their history.

So, please, moderators: reinstate the missing posts and lets all move on.

Well said and I've never had that impression from you by the way. For the record, I had no idea of what had transpired, still don't and really don't feel that I need to know either. We met briefly at the last Rennsport in Monterey but, neither had the time to really chat it up. I still wish you all the best.

Hopefully everyone on the board has something they can take away from all of this.

I've been riff but never raff. It would appear that Raj's parts have been subject to raff. See French/Old English derivations

    Important quote from Syndrome:

"If everyone's super then no one will be."

Applies to Riff Raff as well.
