Bulldogs are very special, unfortunately they have shorter life than many other dogs. Shelby loves to dive in the snow.

The dogs that we keep with us today are not the same creatures that came out of the wilds, millennia ago . . . to share our food and our fires and our society. They've been bred and trained and used by us --- prolly from the moment we came together

    Dogs, now --- are our creations . . .

. . . and though they may be chosen now for their looks or their pedigree or their intelligence --- that's not exactly what we made them for, Back Then

    Dogs were tools

    To hunt our prey . . .
    . . . to guard our stuff . . .
    . . . to tend our flocks . . .
. . . even to haul our goods

I don't ask much from mine . . . just do as I say, behave yourself, and travel with me

But what do they ask from me? They don't . . . but what do they need?

I used to volunteer in an animal shelter, and, after being around those animals . . . I'm not sure most people have any idea what that means

One of my greatest pleasures? --- is finding out what my dog 'is'

    Like these guys . . .

    . . . frisbees or flyball . . .

    . . . obstacles or flocks . . .

These guys didn't just show up here, one day . . . well --- most of 'em, anyway

Somebody took the time/made the effort/brought them to a place --- to let them do this . . . retrieve and herd and chase and run

    Lucky dogs

As Georg (#110) has left us in december and we'll get our new rescue after we've moved to the new home I will I have to post a pic of another man's dog, which obviously has a better taste in Cars than Georg did when he entered the footwell of a Ford.
