Auction Description:
• Owned by the vendor in 1978/1979 and from 2009 on wards
• Professionally restored by Prill Porsche Classics
• Circa 800 miles since completion in 2015
• Restoration bills totaling circa £75,000 available
• Beautiful condition
This particular 2.2-litre 911S is one of only 44 right-hand drive examples delivered to the UK in 1971 out of 78 cars in total, making it a very rare Porsche indeed. Sold via Duncan Hamilton in 1971, there is a photo on file of the car outside the Duncan Hamilton dealership, and it still bears the dashboard sticker from this sale. The current vendor owned 'GPK 50K' during 1978/1979 and then, upon seeing it for sale some 30 years later in 2009, had to acquire it. A six-year comprehensive restoration then ensued, the task being entrusted to Andy Prill (Prill Porsche Classics), one of the most highly respected specialists in the business. The Porsche was returned to its delighted owner in October 2015, since when it has been used sparingly, covering a mere 800-or-so miles. Presented in beautiful condition, this expertly restored 911S is offered with current MoT, a V5C Registration Certificate, and restoration bills totalling some £75,000.

Auction Description:
- One of 499 built for the U.S. market
- Matching-numbers drivetrain as verified by Porsche Certificate of Authenticity
- Factory options include Becker radio, headrests, and tinted rear window
- Three owners from new; always lovingly maintained
- Sympathetically restored; recently serviced and prepared for driving enjoyment
The 911 L was limited to just 499 examples built in 1968 especially for the American market. The ‘L’ designation, for ‘Luxe,’ was essentially the European premier ‘S’ model fitted with an air-pump equipped engine to meet the safety and emissions regulations exacted stateside. Easily recognizable for its small side-marker lights, which are not integrated into the wrap-around tail lights or parking light clusters, the 911 L featured the 1,991-cc flat-six engine, producing 130 hp and a top speed of 131 mph. This model was the most expensive Porsche in the American market with a sticker price $600 over previous offerings. It became an immediate success and instantly collectible as a one-year-only production model.
This superb 911 L is a rare matching-numbers example, as verified by the accompanying Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche. Chassis no. 11805291 was completed at the Porsche factory on 2 April 1968 in Light Ivory (Code 6804) with black leatherette interior, as it is offered today. It was also equipped with the five-speed manual transmission and optioned with a Becker radio, loudspeaker, antenna, driver and passenger headrests, tinted rear window, and fitted with Dunlop tires.
Research suggests that this L has had only three owners from new, the third and current being a highly respected Porsche collector in New Jersey. Approximately eight years ago the car was entrusted to Gene Kirschner, a New Jersey marque specialist, for a sympathetic restoration. Autohaus of New Jersey completed the mechanical work, while sports car specialist Tuxedo Motorsport of Tuxedo Park, New York, attended to the cosmetics. For the most part the interior was in excellent condition, showing the gentle wear of a well-loved car, which had never been raced or rallied, and showed less than 94,000 miles on the odometer. The seats were refinished in the factory-correct black leatherette, and the exterior was repainted in its original Light Ivory. Otherwise, this 911 L remains largely original, thus preserving the integrity of a superbly maintained example.
This rare Porsche coupe comes with the original tool kit and owner’s manual. Recently serviced, with new tires, belts, and a valve adjustment in preparation for its maiden rally (though the owner was unable to participate at the eleventh hour), this 911 L is primed and prepped for its next adventure, be it an organized rally, or simply eager exploration of the road less traveled.

Auction Description:
• Desirable 'S' version of the short-wheelbase 911
• Dating from the last year of 'SWB' 911 production
• Matching numbers and colours
• In Belgium since the 1980s
• Desirable colour combination of Tangerine with black interior from new
The Porsche 911S offered here, chassis number '11800760', is one of the last of the early short-wheelbase type much favoured by the historic rallying fraternity, a situation that has led to unmodified examples such as this one becoming a great rarity and consequently much in demand.
Finished in arguably the best colour combination of Tangerine with black leatherette interior, this Porsche 911 was delivered new to Italy on 1st June 1968, and is instantly recognisable as an Italy-delivered car by virtue of its special indicators, which were only fitted for the Italian market. This car was also equipped from new with the desirable five-speed gearbox option.
In February 1987, the car moved to Brussels, Belgium with Mr Pietro De Rosa, who kept it until recently. Unusually, this car retains its original Belgian registration papers dating from 1987, which are still current. Some mechanical refurbishment was carried out in 2016, while the carburettors were professionally overhauled only a few months ago. Recently the underbody and sills benefited from extensive work to make excellent again. An older restoration, this car retains its original interior and can be described as in lovely condition, 'on the button' and ready to go.
Accompanying documentation consists of a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity; Certificate of Conformity issued by D'Ieteren in 1987 when the car came to Belgium; old Contrôle Technique dated 1987; invoices for recent works and parts; compression test; and a Classic Data report confirming the car's condition and estimated value of €175,000 in 2016.

BaT Description:
This 1973 Porsche 911S Targa is finished in Silver Metallic over a black leatherette interior and shows an indicated 81k miles. Sold new by a dealership in Lincoln Nebraska, it was built during the final year of longhood F-series 911 production and comes equipped with a set of optional sport seats, and dealer-installed air conditioning. Power comes from a fuel injected 2.4-liter flat six paired to a 5-speed manual transaxle, both of which are numbers-matching and have been rebuilt within the past six years. This 911S is being offered by an independent Porsche shop in Arizona on the seller’s behalf, and offered with documentation, a Porsche CoA, and a clear Nebraska title.
A repaint in the factory Silver Metallic was performed in 1994. Photos of the process, showing the exterior trim removed and the exterior primed have been provided. Deco-trim and wheel well moldings were reinstalled during reassembly, as the car was originally equipped. The targa top has also been recovered in recent years. A few imperfections have accumulated in the trim and paint since the work was completed. The 6″x15″ Fuchs wheel were reconditioned and come wrapped in Michelin tires. Braking is from 4-wheel vented discs with aluminum ‘S’ calipers up front, and the system is plumbed with braided stainless hoses.
The interior is described as a mix of original and replacement items, including the factory-installed sport seats and Blaupunkt stereo. Air conditioning was reportedly added by the dealership using factory components when the car was new, and the system was serviced in the last year. Approximately 81k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer.
In S trim, the mechanically fuel-injected 2.4-liter flat six was factory rated at 190 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. This example was reportedly rebuilt approximately 2,500 miles ago in 2014 by a Nebraska-based specialist, with machine work handled by Walt Watson of Competition Engineering. A replacement 1973-specific, RS/S style trombone oil cooler has been added in the passenger side front fender. The 5-speed 915 transaxle was reportedly overhauled two years prior. Engine #6331487 is shown and matched by the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity below. A photo of the matching transaxle stamping #337336 is provided in the gallery.
The maintenance book shows dealer stampings up to 1976, and records dating from 1984 have been retained in a service file. Documentation reportedly shows the ownership history listed below:
- Purchased new by Mr. Reid of Hamburg, Iowa and put into service 8/73 with 95 miles shown.
- The second owner was Mr. Stanley Mills from Lincoln, Nebraska
- The third owner was Mr. Woods of Lincoln, Nebraska. Sale date 7/84 with 46,479 miles shown.
- Sold to Mr. Virgil Stewart of Lincoln, Nebraska in 5/86 with approximately 50,400 indicated miles.
- Sold to Mr. Krantz of Omaha, Nebraska in 1/88 with 51,605 indicated miles.
- Purchased by Mr. Hutchinson of Lincoln, Nebraska in 8/90 with approximately 56k indicated miles. Service records show that he added 12k miles during his ownership.
- The current owner purchased 1/95 from Mr. Hutchinson with 68k indicated miles.
The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists the original drivetrain, options, and colors.
