Some members may remember my post about "Vern Hagestad" dealer badge. At the time I thought it might be possible to have a bunch made, but it turned out to be cost prohibitive. So just had my pot metal piece repaired. The repair place did not do plating so i went on a search for a close by plater. Discovered Frankford Plating in Philadelphia. Also wanted my 912 engine lid emblem gold plated (had the Porsche letters already and just liked the gold on the Irish Green). After a rather tortuous drive down 295 from Trenton to Philadelphia (virtual parking lot do to road repairs), I found Frankford Plating. Really nice owner and staff. Even complemented the pot repair metal repair even though I discovered they could have done the same. Turn around was under two weeks. Cost was $325.00 total and they shipped back by UPS. Don't know whether that was cheap or expensive, but local to me. Had some grills done several years ago in Massachusetts and the merely plated over the corroded pot metal. Quite an argument over that after having travelled so many miles for what was allegedly a great plater. Pictures of results below. If interested, Frankford has a nice Web page.
