    1971 Experimental heads?

    Hello all,

We just took apart a race motor that had a strange set of heads that I have never seen before.

    Specs
    casting date of 3/71
    901.104.302.0R
    46/40 valves
    36MM intake
    38MM exhaust.

They are not welded in any way and look very factory. I cannot prove that the exhaust was not enlarged at a later time but the concensus is that it may have been a Turbo at one point in time.

Notice the quench area similar to the IMSA 962 head...Could this be a progenitor of the Monster engines of the 70's?
