We know that Porsche used up the parts they had available and sometimes this has resulted in some cars with minor details a little different from others. Maybe Hans snuck an extra beer at lunch or a supplier was having trouble and an alternate had to be found.

Common sense would say that a bar was replaced but judging by the finish on the ends (not pictured) it's indistinguishable from the others, it does not seem to be a number 6 bar cut down and shaped to fit number 12 position.
