This is on a '65 car

-New sending unit
-New wiring harness
-Fuel gauge restored and tested
-Soldered wire connections
-Eight +/- gallons of fuel in tank
-Sending unit retaining screws have been backed off and are just snug tight

When the ignition switch is turned on the fuel gauge needle moves from it's resting position (bumps up) just below the empty mark.

So what is the next test to get this thing working??
