Very rare Alpina tacho for 1600. I bid on it, but lost (went for 700 usd approximately).
no alpina branding on it?..
never saw that!
looks so american smith/sun like
but very cool
700 aint really that bad in the big picture of this hobby.
You should be glad because it must have been a scam.
This is mine and isn't / wasn't for sale. Could you point me to where you've seen it for sale?
And alpina is the button to hide the reset button of the normal position of the mile reset button. It's from an alpina typewriter (Burkard Bovensiepen's father ran Alpina Bureau Machines)
Alpina was using Gossen tachs in the early days (with Alpina branding) but apart from the typewriter logo nothing's genuine alpina on this.
I'll probably change the 200kph Speedo for a true (really rare) Schnitzer 240kph before it goes into the car.

uai,
I just read your post from half a year ago...
It does look like a scam indeed, because the picture is identical with yours! (Lucky me that I was overbid...)
If I remember correctly it was offered on the Italian mutation of eBay - I was searching for clear Italian turn signal lenses, and came accross that scam auction.
This just proves that evil lures at you from every corner of the internet...

I don't put in in For sale as I am not selling them and I don't know the price.
But a friend is thinking about parting with his set of early Alpina 3piece wheels - that early style is really rare.
His contact is holger@drews.li

I'm new to the world of early 911s however been a BMW 2002tii owner for 17 years!
Here's my '73 Turkis Tii purchased from the original California owner in 2002. For those in the 2002 world that was THE YEAR with many '02 Fests held across the country.
I attended Midwest '02 Fest that year and was on my way to Hershey when my alternator failed and I had to turn back just across the Illinois-Indiana border.
One of the photos below is from the Windy City BMW Vintage Fest and the other more recent with my Peridot Green Cayman R in the background.

I remember! in 2002 I had just washed my car and was gassing it up when a middle aged woman who was admiring my car noticed the 2002 badge and asked "it's so pretty! so that's the new BMW model?" I said "why, yes it is! You should go buy one!"
I've owned this "72 since '77
