All,
Does anyone have recommendations for a good early-car shop in the DC metro area? Nothing extensive as far as restoration needs, but rather a knowledgeable resource for a long hood.
Thanks in advance!
Scott

Scott,
Not sure if the shop is still around, but this from a 2007 thread:
I would suggest talking to Bill at Performance Autowerks in Summit Point, WV. Bill's shop is on site at Summit Point Raceway and he is doing my 67S engine, carbs, transmission, etc., and is very reasonable. A lot of N. VA folks use him for just this type of service. Just a stone throw from you with none of that major deposit stuff. He is very knowledgeable, uses the right parts and it will cost you a lot less than what it will over there in N. VA.
Hope this helps,
cm

A few places come to mind in NOVA: Karroserie LTD (Lewis Hauser). Not sure if he's taking on much new work these days, but he's a great guy. Wills Werks (Eric Wills) Also a single guy shop (super-fantastic trans., mechanicals, engines) Also a great guy, but super busy due to it being just him and an occasional assistant. Intersport Performance is a great place owned by PCA members (Omar and Charlie are great people and their team is top shelf). There are others, but I've had bad experiences with a few I will not name.
Another shop is Ralphs auto service in Reisterstown MD. Ralph has been in business for 40+ years. The shop is now partially owned by Chuck Goldsborough (Formerly "Baron" on this forum).

I'll plug Bergman Autowerks in Manassas. Dave Bergman and Tony Shea have a ton of air-cooled experience. Dave drives a hot-rod '72.
