This. While my wife and I both enjoy checking out other people's cars at shows and concours events, nothing else at Parade really interests us. I personally wouldn't mind participating in a casual auto-x, but I gather that auto-x at Parade is far from a friendly casual event. Way too serious for me to think about. Since checking out other cars is all we would be interested in, we couldn't even be bothered to go to Spokane, which is a one-day drive from here. Boca in July? 3000+ miles away? Not happening.
Did Werks in 2017, but even that was not something I'd want to do annually. The air-cooled attendance that year was disappointing.

I am having a lot of fun at this year’s parade. Not as many early cars as I had hoped, but I didn’t help much by not bringing mine either- perhaps next year. Got some good pictures of very original cars to help me with an ongoing restoration. Got to meet and visit with some terrific people, and in general am having a lot of fun. I can comment on the autocross as I have been involved with them for years. They are much lower key than you would expect and a lot of fun. Some great cars to look at, and it is fun to chat with the other drivers.

My understanding is that PCA concours is more about cleanliness and presentation, not so much about correctness or originality.

It was sad to see the lack of cars, but PCA can’t make folks show up with cars. The judges on the other hand are very qualified, and in the case of early 911’s, you won’t find better.

Can OCD competitive car washing be sustainable? The Werks Reunion and other events are evolving past the white glove test. #pca_evolution
