I'm beginning to think I'm the only one that ordered the Map Light on my 1968 911 (parts list, page 881 refers to it as Interior Light). It's about 18 inches long, flexible and mounted just ahead of the passenger dome light. Being flexible it reaches over the passenger's shoulder and illuminates maps quite well. Great on night rallies.
And by the way, that '68 911 is in the final stage of restoration. Engine rebuilt, body totally renewed and getting new interior upholstery right now.

Porsche 928 GT introduction to the sale network, in Germany.
Very interesting, at least for a 928 enthusiast, like me.

My 82 Monterey collection. Drove my 58 Speedster there.....what a hoot! Entered my car in the "Street" class. Judge Jack Ogden found a crushed Bud can under my seat, and other Judge Bob Raucher said "looks like ya brought some of Nebraska with you", pointing to a chunk of mud inside my rear bumper.....oops!.....LOL! Maybe the best of all Porsche gatherings ever! I still have the event poster hangin on the shop wall.
My large format original VW-Porsche banner from late 60s to early 70s approx a meter tall:
This same logo design (likley different item) is featured in the window of the UK dealership premises taken in 1972 where my Carrera RS was ordered new also in 72 and then delivered to first owner there early in 73.
Logo appears in this old photo of the dealership premises from 1972 (kindly sent to me by the Principal of the dealership who sold the RS brand new to keep with the car)
The Carrera RS (in fact all 911 for that era in some markets ) not just the VW-PORSCHE 914 were sold through VW-PORSCHE joint sales operations that featured on the Carrera RS brochure *in English.it was a VW-PORSCHE publication; along with many other literature similarly VW-PORSCHE branded on a number of markets.
The 50:50 equal shares arrangement to jointly promote all Porsche and VW-Porsche cars known as VG internally ran from April 1969 to January 1st 1974 which dates this original banner right in heart off the so called longhood era.
There wasn't a PORSCHE-AUDI version of this RS brochure as model not sold officially in NA. Not sure if VW-PORSCHE banners were seen in North America . PORSCHE +AUDI were used over the pond on that era taking over from the earlier Hoffman and Porsche plus independent dealer network that preceded that in USA.

* I do have this RS fairly rare English language RS brochure but used a stock photo for reference here in post that is about the old banner not brochures.

Rare promotion brochure from a VW Porsche dealer in Torino
Some letters to my father, from Porsche.
Many are from von Hanstein, of which some are on his personal stationary.
The Christmas card I've posted before, which notes "Your Carrera has been already shipped and I hope you'll like it -Hanstein"
