BaT Description:
This 1973 Porsche 911T was sold new in Oakland, California, and was reportedly acquired by the seller’s father from its third owner in 1988. The car is finished in Moss Green over a black leather interior, and power is from a fuel-injected 2.4-liter flat-six mated to a five-speed 915 manual transaxle. Features include a 911S-style front valance, a power sunroof, chrome wheel arch trim, 15″ Fuchs wheels, and more. A June 2019 service included a new ignition coil, fuel pump, and installation of a Permatune CD box. This 911T shows 70k miles and is offered with owner’s manuals, a Porsche certificate, service records from 1975 on, a tool roll, and a clean California title.
Originally delivered in Olive Green, the car was repainted Moss Green in 1986 while with its third owner according to the seller. Chrome fender trim was optioned from the factory, and a 911S front valance has been fitted. Blemishes include scrapes on the right quarter panel and lower valance, chips in the deck lid, and a dent under the right rear quarter window. Fuchs wheels feature polished spokes and are mounted with 205/60-15 Pirelli P8000 Vizzola tires all around.
Initially beige leatherette with houndstooth cloth inserts, the interior is now fitted with black vinyl seats and gray carpets. An air conditioning system was reportedly installed by the original dealer, but is currently inoperable. Just under 70k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 32k of which have been added by the seller’s father over 31 years. An older JVC cassette stereo is mounted in the dash.
The numbers-matching 2.4-liter 911/91 flat-six features CIS Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and produced 140 horsepower when new. A 2011 service reportedly included a new fuel distributor, injectors, and filter as well as replacement of the spark plugs, a compression check, and cylinder decarbonization. A service in June 2019 included a new ignition coil, fuel pump, and the installation of a Permatune CD box. Engine #6133291 matches the included Porsche certificate as original to this chassis. An oil change was performed in August 2017. The engine is mated to a five-speed 915 manual transaxle. The 1992 Porsche certificate lists a delivery date of February 1973 as well as factory equipment and original colors of Olive Green over beige leatherette.
