I love all these great photos.
Linge drove one of my factory werks race cars. He’s a really important person for Porsche.
It’s interesting to see snow cake in the Fuchs wheels; maybe that’s why steelies were often used.

This is a mid 70s interior shot of the much featured on this thread genuine RHD M471 Carrera RS rally car. Period picture showing how it was actually done back in early to mid 70s.

Interesting see weight Vs convenience trade off: Cricklewood made Radiomobile radio with distinctive shaped knobs the brand as often fitted to RHD cars by importer

Correction:
1953 Alpine Rally on Gavia Pass
Later on both car and female co-pilot look like they've run into trouble/are a little worse for wear?
Not my era of interest nor 911 but striking photo; maybe Hans Leo von Hoesch/Mrs von Hoesch who were a couple in a Porsche .
..others probably know more about this really old 356 stuff.
They've repaired the barrier so that'd make me feel a lot more secure

The Gavia pass lies in the Stelvio National Park and connects Bormio in the north with Ponte di Legno in the south via a 43 km long pass road. There are ten hairpin bends on the north ramp up to 2618 m s.l.m. to drive through the high pass, 15 hairpin bends on the south ramp. The difference in altitude to be overcome is about 1400 m.
The pass presents itself on its north ramp relatively well and has two lanes. The south ramp, which has only been asphalted since the late 1990s, has some very narrow hairpin bends and a roadway that is only 1.9 to 3 meters wide. There are a few alternative points for oncoming traffic. There is also an approximately 800 m long tunnel on the south side, which serves as a bypass for a very narrow section that is now closed to traffic. On busy days, difficult traffic situations can occur, especially on the south ramp, since it is impossible for two sections to pass two vehicles.
The pass lies between Monte Gavia (3223 m s.l.m.) and Corno dei Tre Signori (3360 m s.l.m.) and offers a good view of the glaciers of the Adamello group.
The Gavia Pass is occasionally included in the demanding mountain stages of the Giro d’Italia and then often marks the highest point of the race, the Cima Coppi, where most of the mountain points are awarded.

Hans Leo van Hoesch finished the International Rally Lisbon (Estoril) in 1952 in fourth place overall after Filipe Nogueira, Conde de Monte Real and D. Fernando Mascarenhas, becoming the best-placed foreigner in this tough race. After departing from Frankfurt he managed to get to Portugal with no major problems, and was eventually beaten in the last race in Estoril, where the Portuguese knew their way.
