Does anyone know the weight of a LWB stock leatherette comfort seat with headrest?

I'll take a stab at it. 40 lbs.

Thanks. I am building a hot rod and am weight conscious. I had already removed and sold my comfort seats so I don't have them to weigh. I have heard the factory sport seats are 60+ pounds - I see that the aftermarket sport seats range 25-27 pounds so it looks like I can save some weight by going with the aftermarket sport seats.

I think Vintage Seats RS model is sub 20lbs. Without hardware that is. The late double locker sport seats are heavy enough to anchor a boat. See the VS ad in the Esses. Good stuff.

I never understood how Porsche with all its engineering would make the sport seat heavier than the comfort seat
That is true. But even if lighter, the comfort seat is awful for a hot rod or anything you might want to autocross or track. You slide all over the place. About the best you could do would be to add a 4 point harness and really strap yourself in. I used to twist the three point seat belt and put it really tight on my lap to hold myself down.

^ oh I agree. I already sold my comfort seats - they reminded me of my first car (VW Bug). I was just curious of weight as I am tracking my weight reductions with my build and I had already sold those seats. I will go aftermarket - either ST style or S seats.
