Who knows what lurks in the office coffee table... spot the future bits of satan...
The tubes will be cut to mimic the RS Trombone except these will have the one additional loop on each side. I had a Carrera cooler on the car and I took it off as the trombone just looked more in keeping with a 67.
I should be getting Chuck's Elephant under hood crossover lines tomorrow, so I can add the second trombone. Custom flexible connecting lines will be made once the lines and the 2 trombones are in place.
For the cooler months (early spring and late fall) here in Colorado, I might make a simple U tube for the drivers side to bypass the second cooler if two is too much. I'll design some kind of quick release for the drivers cooler. These coolers are a breeze to put on and take off.
I'm guessing the system will take 13 or 14 quarts as it almost takes 12 now.

Chris,, I notice that you are not using "springs" inside you tube forming tool. This is why you are getting the """flattening""" in your curvature formation. I would be not be putting any (fluid ,,, oil ) resistance on the pump. Although you will get "flow' it is by no means perfect I to have say.

Love the double UP tho

Mark,
I have run the car with the single 3 looper for 4000 miles. So far only cutting no bending. Maybe someone tweeked a tube before I got them? I will insert a spring on your advice as the next stage will probably require more cutting and a bend or two or three. What kind of fit should I look for in the spring. I don't want it to get stuck in there.
When everything is warm and the thermostat is open I'm running 75 to 80 pounds of pressure at the oil pressure sender. I'm sure when the thermostat first opens on a cool day the 15-50 oil up front is running much higher pressure till the oil warms up. i prefer the big tube trombones for that very reason.
By the way the bends at the top will be gone as I'll set these up like 3 loop RS coolers.
Mark,
Guess I should have opened your link first. 3/4 ? inside spring? Is 12 inches long enough?
The two parts of the cooler on the left have not been connected yet.

Some new tone it down details...replaced the giant red MSD 6AL on the fire wall with a Street Fire in the old fuel pump location, moved the coil from the top of the fan to where it should be, painted the ugly red MSD tach adapter black (you can't even see it in the picture - it's just forward of the coil), had Performance Oriented rebuild the old Webers, and added some new black Clewett plug wires with the long coil lead. And while I was in there I cleaned the shroud and everything under it, intake manifolds, fan, engine tin, and neatened up some wiring. Oh, and I finally emptied the oil catch tank...after 12 years and 40K miles, it only had about a half inch of gunk in it.
More subdued engine bay

Hi Chris,
The spring should slide inside the ID of the pipe freely
They should not be too loose and never tight on the inside bore.
They are as a 'spring' is and will naturally unwind out of the pipe post bending, ie they will stretch and reduce in diameter.
!2'' seems rather short and I recall mine being at least 24''. From memory we used to be able to join additional springs together,, the Rigid spring on the link is not able to do this. Keep in mind that it was 'hard walled copper piping that i worked with and using "Prebal Benders", like these Rigid benders ,, link,,,https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/thin-wall-conduit-benders ,,,but the same principals apply.
If you are making a 1 off trombone cooler it may be more economic to hire a spring from some one local.
The 'flattening' of the bends at the top (flow and return) just look FUGLY to me but if you are amending these to the RS cooler top connections this is not an issue.
Best of luck (not that it is needed ) and keep us posted.
