I wish someone like Soterik would take these on as a project. All of the options have been bad for years.

Someone should talk to the Whitsells at 914Rubber. Their dash pad for 914s was really good.

I haven't seen a Lakewell dashboard but have ordered door cards, parcel shelf etc. Quality was so so. The backing was hardboard not ply and the fittings started to discolour pretty quickly. A bit disappointing.

The now-discontinued "Lakewell" dash (actually from Carpoint) was the best reproduction dash ever available and of much higher quality than the other interior parts offered by Lakewell which, I agree, can be hit or miss. Lots of discussion of this over the years.

With the conclusion, current offerings are not satisfactory, what does that do to current prices for used dashes, no cracks?

Frank Beck sold his NOS dash for more than $10k. I bought two used ones without speakers for $5k each. Hard to find.

    they're still out there...

purchased from a long time friend and member here. these were done by the factory in '92. my buddy is the original owner of a '74 Carrera and the vinyl pattern is spot on. I'm not going to complain about the diamond pattern speaker cover ...or the mounting stud issue (no clue... I was there for the cutting of the tape and grand opening)

    ...and the happy side...

weird about the impressions on the speaker cover. I do have a proper replacement, albeit not quite this nice.
