Yes, 3" is the M type spacing. I know there are a lot of different styles of M size caliper, but the fluid inlet on that one is where the A caliper has it's fluid inlet, and that confused me. I'd have to guess it was not a Porsche caliper originally. Are you expecting to get get into the USA anytime soon? Like this year?

It'll be interesting to see your result. I don't think you'll get there without super light FG lids and doors. My sister's 69 race car is something near 1850 and probably a little less. It has swiss cheese holes all over the chassis and lightweight FG bumpers, lids, and doors if I remember correctly. Good luck!

Not fit for Cert but period correct for what you are doing.
First Scheel Fiberglass Bucket Seat era 1966/67 and at just over 11 lbs would have been the GO back in the day.
