'. . . Do you have a unique, long-running BMW built in 1999 or earlier with more than 300,000 miles that’s still roadworthy? If so, BMW Classic wants to hear from you! This is your chance to have your Bimmer featured at the BMW Museum! They are currently preparing a new exhibition inspired by sustainability, and using and maintaining long-running automobiles is a big part of that mission.
If you are interested in submitting your car for consideration, please email a description and photos by Friday, May 28, to bccm@bmwgroup-classic.com . . .'

All over this! . . .
'. . . read about BMW Classic looking for pre-1999 BMWs with more than 300k miles, so . . .
. . . here's my car
1991 BMW 318iS. Purchased in Tucson, AZ around 2006 --- with 38k mi. Current mileage is >370k mi, this morning
This is my 3rd 318iS, and my 5th e30 --- the other two were M3s. This is my all-time favorite BMW, and probably my all-time favorite car.
There are some changes from stock:
- The suspension is an Eibach 'Pro-kit' with Bilstein Sport shocks
- I've also installed Turner suspension re-enforcements and M3 lower control arms
- The brakes are stock but the rotors have been cryo-dipped and slotted for gas relief
- I've changed-out the original 14" wheels for a set of BBS RGF forged 16" wheels
- All of the bumper trim has been changed-over to Euro-type --- no corner marker-lights
- Original trunk spoiler has been changed to a Euro BMW 'sport-line' bit
- Headlights are Hella H1s + H4s
- Front spoiler has been sheared-off so many times I just use the smaller trim piece, now
- Engine was rebuilt @280k mi but is completely stock
- Replaced the original differential with a Factory LSD
- Muffler is now a Supersprint; catalyst is MagnaFlow
- Changed the original plastic steering wheel to a leather Factory one
- Shift knob is a walnut Alpina bit
- Driver's seat is a RECARO Profi SPG XL
- Right front and left rear quarter panels, front valance, and both bumpers have been re-painted (single-stage); the rest of the paint is original
- Both lower rocker panels have been re-Schutzed (twice)
I love the M42 cars. Small, light, super-nimble, roomy, economical and easy to maintain, beautifully built and finished --- and a lot of fun to drive!
I've owned other cars --- other BMWs . . . but these M42 e30s are my favorites . . .'
Skip the garage queens --- let's see some o' those good ol' trusty, well-used High-milers that 'll get driven 'till they stop selling fuel!
