Beautiful 991 GT3
About time this thread had an update. Here's my Mk1 Clubsport, originally Guards red however some moron painted it black which I plan to rectify.
In a word...Awesome! I've always had hotrod 911's and this one feels similar in a lot of ways but certainly sharper. I've done refresh on the transmission with steel synchros, shorter diff ratio and Guard LSD, and of course had to give it a run at the track which was a bit of a learning curve coming from air cooled cars.
So who still as a 966 GT3 in their garage?

What they say about the porsche DNA and driving characteristics holds true across the 30 odd years between these two.
All the same techniques apply (but perhaps I am doing it wrong!?)
The ABS was the only thing I had a little trouble getting used to,
Everything else was second nature.

Been lucky to have owned a number of great Porsches over the years. My fav is far and away my 6gt3.
Just a great...no...really really great driver's car. Everything I like about the older cars, but with more speed, more feel, and in general, more special"ness".
Keeping mine til the last...I'm the first and third owner (stupidly sold it only to buy it back as soon as I could).
Get one if you can...they are truly that last of the line before everything got all complicated, automated, and isolated. I've always appreciated the cleanliness and elegance of the 6gt3 design and I think more and more will appreciate the no fluff approach as time goes on...
My 2c
