Testing an oil tank level sender

I would appreciate instructions how to test an oil tank level sender.

Richard, an ohm meter will do it. Dont have the resistance handy but I am sure a quick search on the bird or here will yield the answer.

Specific numbers are not really important . Probe the terminal and the body , if the ohms vary as the lever is moved and there are no interuptions the sending unit is good .

I tried a little harder and it appears both are working.

Now, is there a guy / place who restores these? Take them apart, plate and reassemble or does one have to do it themselves.

BTW That is why I would like to source out where possible since I would like to finish the car in my lifetime and figuring out for a one time process is very inefficient

Schrauben-shop.de Problem with many of this stuff is that there is no one out there doing it. The sender sits behind the cover underneath the car so +95% will not care how the sender looks let alone if the date matches. Does not leave much of a market for somebody to provide a service for.

I will check w them. I also have the gas tank senders to be redone.
