hi, does anyone have photos of the 1973 color # 224? And what is the difference with the color 230 ?
I've scrolled through the green color thread, but didn't find any specific photo.
thnx.

It’s the same color. For model 1973 it was called 230, 224 was the internal code in 1972.
(0)83 = 8310 (targa) = 8383 (coupé) = 224 (1972) = 230 (1973) = L97P (VW) = Grün Metallic / Green Metallic
Composition is the same: https://coloronline.glasurit.com/index.php?language=8

This is a picture of “Dark Green Metallic”, not of the “Green Metallic” 224/230. Do you have what is on the paint tag of this car and do you know if this is the original paint on the car? I have been investigating this before and Porsche created quite some confusion at the paint suppliers by reusing code 221 for both nuances and afterwards translating one of them to the lighter 224/230. I can add documents to illustrate the confusion.

I am confused about the dark green metallic as well. I do not have any of the codes for it. I need documented evidence (VIN and paint badge photos at a minimum, and a CoA would assist).
I also have evidence of 224 being used with 1973 model cars at least into Sept 1972. My first evidence of 230 seems to be in Oct 1972. Any VIN and paint badge photo combos of 224 and 230 are needed.

I must admit. My Italian Nov 1972 production model 1973 Targa S has 230-9-3 (Grün Metallic - Porsche - Herberts (Dupont)) on the original paint tag and 8310 on its CoA.
The tricky thing is that paint suppliers started calling the colour 224/230 Dunkelgrün incorrectly. The confusion may have arisen because Porsche reused an earlier internal code 221 for Grün Metallic for the 1970 and 1971 model years. For model years 1970 and 1971, the administrative numbers were already 8310 and 8383.
That internal code 221 was used for model years 1966/1967 for Metallic Dark Green, a much darker colour with administrative number 62109.
For the 1968/1969 model years, Metallic Dark Green was again indicated by internal code 219 and administrative number 6852.
If you were to check the composition of colours 8310, 8383, 230 and 224 at Glasurit (https://coloronline.glasurit.com/index.php?language=8), for example, you would find that they are identical.
For model year 1970, you could choose for the VW Porsche 914 colour 8310 (a targa model) grünmetallic/metallic green in the brochure. At the time, this colour was indicated by Porsche with the internal code 221 (not very clever!), and at the VW branches with the internal code L97P. If you check the composition of L97P with Glasurit, you will indeed find that it is identical to 8310, 8383, 230 and 224.
I have deliberately left internal Porsche code 221 off the list. You cannot request 221 from Glasurit either, probably because it was linked to two physical colours by Porsche. In their brochure they solve this as follows. They note at 221 "Farbton existiert in 2 Nuancen siehe auch POR 230". Unfortunately they wrongly call POR 230 "dunkelgrün metallic".
