He can’t be the only one in the United States who can do these locks. I have been listening to these stories about him for years.
(fingers in ears) La La La La La La.
Don't burst my bubble. I just can't take this. What he needs to do is trivial. I could have done it if I had the proper lock wafers, which seem to have been discontinued several years ago. My key code is stamped on the ignition lock tumbler and I had disassembled everything, so there is very little for him to do. Now that the border is becoming easier to travel across, I may have to drive down there and retrieve my stuff if I don't hear from him in a few weeks. Unless somebody in PA can help in that regard. I'm done with putting up with this slow unreliable artist crap. And no he isn't the only person who can do this, especially if you can strip your tumblers down like I did.

Last I looked Zim and SMC had lock service. I used SMC once and service wasn't lighting fast, but OK and probably twice the cost of what Tony charges. Also, you do have a customer service staff to talk to and SMC has always been top shelf when I had the slightest issue.

I have no issue with that. Grateful for people who do this stuff. And happy to pay more if I actually get something out of it. But people who do this should be aware that other people also have lives and limited time on this earth and that if you can't deliver when you say, and you don't communicate, then that is not fair.
We should enjoy our hobby and have it relieve our daily stress, not have it create more stress!
You are exemplary in how you carry out your business John. Others should have the same courtesy.
cheers,
Ravi

I've been dealing with Tony for years, so I'm use to this. I think the longest I waited was 2-3 years for my 67S ignition/handles key match. None of this is a mystery there are threads all over the place on this issue. Patience is a virtue.

Thanks Ravi, that's kind of you to say. I feel like I'm always behind. I like the pick any two concept: quality, time, price.
I'm inclined to defend Tony. I don't know how old he is but imagine life gets in the way of many of his best laid plans.
Cheers,
kind

Tony is a professional locksmith John. You can drive to his business (house) and drop something off. http://lockandkeyid.com/index.html
It's not exactly a hobby, though some of the threads I have found elsewhere allude to health issues a while ago (that were resolved).
I have no idea about his age, but if you hang up your shingle, you need to be more attentive to people's concerns. I'm not going to tolerate a 2-3 year wait to get my car back on the road. Not at this point in life after all the health issues I've gone through. Life is too short. SMC gave me a decent quote. I just wanted to support the old-school folks. That was my mistake.
