    More 6301439 . . .

    . . .

Forged steel crank + forged steel rods, ready for install. These are all the original bits --- just restored + balanced. Note the heads of the bolts on the big-ends . . . never seen that before. Zat unique to Porsche?

Porsche's engine case never ceases to amaze me. Seven main bearings? --- for a 2.2-liter engine? No wonder this thing 's held-together all this time!

Case halves are numbered --- like with 356s. Makes sense, I guess . . . but never knew that

    More 6301439 . . .

    . . . engine casting details

Surprising --- all the little scrapes + squiggles + smudges + voids (!) that turn up

Looks like a marking of some kind showing-up on the side of the case

Mg 's so light, it almost doesn't feel like metal

Pretty surreal to think how much power this little package could put out

    Also . . .

. . . 1st time these insides have seen the light of day since they were 1st put-together . . .WAY Back When

That's my guess. I suppose they were handling the magnesium casting back in the day...
