    1973.5 911 T Correct Radio series

My Certificate of Authenticity notes that my 1973.5 T was equipped from the factory with a Baupunkt Frankfurt Radio. I only had one speaker so it could not have been stereo. What series would it be? Thanks in advance.

This is a handy site with some good information regarding Blaupunkt radios: https://derwhites356literature.com/N...ktRadioID.html

The page isn't entirely complete, but it seems to be a good reference overall. Seems like for 1973.5, you'd be looking at a "D" or "E" series. I don't think there are exact cut-off dates for these radios when one series would stop being used and the other series would begin. Guess it would also depend on availability. At any rate, hope this is helpful.

Most likely it would look like this and have a serial number prefix alpha of 'D' or "E" as mentioned above. Model number would probably be 7.632.627 (Non-Stereo), picture below:

Thank you for the information and picture. Both were extremely helpful. If anyone knows of a source for one please let me know.

    Happy Holidays!

If no one has one available on early911sregistry, below are some other sources (though you could just google Blaupunkt Frankfurt "D" as well):

    classentials.com
    ebay.com
    thesamba.com
    vintageblau.com
    oldtimerautoradio.nl

If you can locate one, hopefully the website will have an image showing the model number on the side of the radio (similar to this post, although this particular example is sold and is a stereo version of the "D" series): https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...S-Stereo-Radio

    Good luck with your search

While I agree that is the correct Blaupunkt for the 73, I've always thought it looked dated (still from the 356 days) for the car (with the black lettering and black bumperettes). I preferred the one that started in 1974. Perhaps someone somewhere can argue that they actually got the next version in their new 73. (I'm saying that in jest since we often get non-original owners who insist some oddity on their car was because the factory ran out early).

Here is one for sale and a picture: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...furt-deal.html

Size: 86.9 KBthe one pictured is for a 74-83 model. The previous picture is correct for your car:

We have these available in the correct USA script and also can provide the optional ipod or bluetooth connectors

So, I have this stereo with part number 7 630 629 000 which according to the chart in the link above says it 70-73. It's not mono though it's stereo so I was wondering if any of you might know what it came in because as far as I know 911 70-73 only had the one speaker in the dash. Was this a replacement if a guy put speakers in the doors that you could buy back in the day?

I believe it came with the car if you added the speaker box on the back shelf.
