    Thank you

I still need to identify and find the 928 S which won the 24 Hour of Snetterton.
The 928 SE is still in good condition and in the UK.

Some of the relay races in England are long established but for a while paralleled the PCGB championships here are one other example.

They have misspelt motorsport engineer Michael Cane’s name as often is the case.

Cane wrote this obituary about his late friend gentleman racer Steve O’Rourke . A life well lived. Leaving a 24h Le Mans where he was entrant to supervise a Pink Floyd’s gig in London and flying back to do his driver stint that’s an action packed weekend. Being able to able to afford buy and run a McLaren F1 endurance race-car as privateer gentleman racer a little reward for the trials and tribulations of managing a rock band with squabbling
    personalities

Incidentally Gordon Murray confirmed to me personally that Cane (along with Belm his Co-owner of GTC) were responsible for persuading (forcing) him and Ron Dennis to go racing with the McLaren F1 road car

Also the Cane O’Rourke EMKA team had fin with an Aston Martin in parallel to the Relays in classic 911

EMKA drivers Faure and Needell occasionally raced in the PCGB club races as did O’Rourke — their names occasionally crop-up in the reports at the time. Needel even prepared for the Le Mans race in this Aston using a 911 SC at the 83 Wilhire 24h race drive — he wrote a report about it here:

Does anyone got the timesheets of the qualifying and race results from the Birmingham Superprix from 1988-1990.

I got a lot of photos in my archives and I might share a few here if anyone is interested or got any paperwork from the Birmingham Superprix.

Just found this thread. My car competed in the Porsche Championship in the late 80’s, it was driven by a driver called Keith Russell. I believe he was relatively successful, he was certainly running towards the front of the grid and had sponsorship from Pirelli (I’ve got a letter showing that he got £20k for one season from them)

My guess is it ran in the black livery before he got the Pirelli sponsorship.

The car was a Rally Car in the mid 70’s, competed the Manx and a few of the Irish Rallies. Driver was Geoff Crabtree, hence the plate which is still on the car.

I’d love to get some more photos of the car or any more history. I’ve looked through the Porsche Post’s.
