    Early new crankcase by Porsche

    Did you got the info ?

    Porsche Classic announced that they now reproduce early magnesium crankcases for 2.0, 2.2, 2.4 and 2.7 engines. With better quality than original ones.

    Yes, the word has been out about a month now, good news, around $12k. You spend around a third of that just prepping an old one. This is a huge commitment from Porsche classic.

    Yes, from the numbers stand point, this is for times that it doesn't matter,,,even if you need to mothball the original.

    Peter yes, the cylinder spigots just need to be bored. Interesting the new case has a 8R casting number.

    Should have been aluminum. I can get good mag cases all day for under $1000. The new production case is for engine builders with customer money.

    Just not 50 years old makes them better. Mag doesn’t age well.
    A part isn't purchased until paid.
