Hi everyone,
I’m new to this club, even though I signed up in 2016. Looking forward to being a full member and getting to know some of you.
Grew up in So Cal and was fortunate to have been around a great many cars. Shelby’s Cobra shop was just around the corner from my house and remember seeing some very nice cars. Too young to remember any details other than I was fascinated by the look and sound of those cars.
Always enjoyed and appreciated all marques, and while my very first car was a 1966 427 Corvette, which I still own, I’ve always loved Porsches. I can remember driving with my parents past the Vasek Polak dealership on PCH many times and staring out the car window and admiring the cars at the dealership. I was probably 8 years old and every time we drove past the dealership, I would ask my parents to buy me one.
I had planned on getting an early 911 around the time I signed up for this club in 2016. Not intending to buy another Corvette, in 2016 I ran into a car I couldn’t pass on, a 1967 L71 with less than 15k miles. I spent a year getting the car ready for a run at the NCRS Duntov award. In 2018, my wife and I received that award at the NCRS Nationals. It was an amazing experience. Absolutely loved the car. Sold it. Miss it dearly.
I now have a 1973 911E Targa. Neighbors’ car and couldn’t pass on it. I was looking for a 911 s coupe but really liked this one. For some reason or another, it is the Targa I remember most as a kid.
Anyways bought the 911E a few weeks ago. Funny story is that a week before I bought it, my neighbor gave me her father’s Vasek Polak plate holder. You can imagine the memories that brought back.
Sorry for the long intro. Looking forward to getting involved with the club. Here’s a picture of my car.

Many more posts and adventures to come !!!!

Good afternoon,
I’m a new member of the Registry, and I thought I’d introduce myself. I’ve purchased a 1972 911T coupe in Albert Blue, my first early 911 after previously owning a 1988 3.2 Carrera. The car checks all the right boxes in terms of originality and rust-free history, and it has some typical options such as tinted glass, S appearance package with trim and gauges, Fuchs wheels, and anti sway bars, all as per the COA.
I’m sure as I continue to familiarize myself with the car I’ll have questions, and I’ve already found this Forum to be a great resource, as I found the car here.
I’ll try and attach a picture. If it works, those here familiar with Virginia will recognize Gunston Hall in the background. My direct email is in the Spring issue of Esses Magazine, if anyone in the Washington, DC area wants to reach out directly please do so.
