    Fuel tank leak

Noticed after my last fill up. I had a bit of gas fumes coming into the cabin. Low & behold, a leak had started on top of the fuel tank that was mixing with sealant. It’s a tacky black consistency. I was initially worried that my front oil cooler was leaking, but grateful to find that it was fuel. I stuffed a towel on top of it in the interim, but it only happens now if I fill up to the max & take on some hills too soon before burning off some fuel. Is this common? Is this what can happen if the tank is overfilled possibly?

    TIA

I'd start with replacing the fuel level sender gasket and the vent hose. Seems like the only two possibilities in that area.

Thanks Ed. The allens were all loose somehow. I cinched those up & filled up last night. Not as bad now, but still seeping at the fuel sender gasket.

Now I just need to get the part number for the gasket

Either works, but use the rubber
