    Beginning the rebuild....

    After getting the car painted last fall, I have now started the rebuild. It's amazing how long it takes to rebuild vs tear down. The simplest things just take time. For example, this rear trim piece has both a small rubber trim piece on the leading underside edge and also Dum-Dum under the main part of the trim. One reason I have taken my time to start is that I wanted to first retire without feeling the pressure/rush to get things done before another Monday comes around...

    Yep..... I am coming up on the same operation
    Before final tightening of this piece, one should have the steel roll bar cover in place
    And the door trim piece in place so that they all mate-up.
    It might seem like a lot of fiddling, but the look pays off.
    Yes.... I mean for fitting purposes
    You have to reinstall the steel targa cover after the rear window
    By the way.
    once the window is in and the targa bar cover is in place
    it is possible to move around the thin part of the chrome piece and the steel targa cover to get everything lined up

    Great advice. Thanks Bob. We did test fit everything before paint, but it would be good to do so again.
